A Pest Inspection for the purpose of buying or selling a property is a non invasive inspection of all visible areas and timbers focusing on termites (White ants), borers of dry seasoned timber, fungal decay (wood rot) and conducive conditions (things that make the property more attractive to timber pests).
A Pest Inspection from our qualified inspectors covers all accessible areas including:
- External areas (fences, trees, landscaping, external timbers around the building).
- Garaging (all accessible areas within the garage).
- Outbuildings (other building's on the property such as sheds, workshops etc).
- Under floor areas (where an accessible sub floor is present).
- Internal areas (skirtings, door frames, timber window frames etc).
- Roofing timbers.
Report Master's Pest Inspectors will provide a report complying with the Australian Standard 4349.3 in an easy to read format including colour photographs of any relevant finding so you can see what the inspector is describing.
What is included in a pest inspection?
Pest inspection is an inspection of all the visible timbers in accessible areas. Primarily looking for evidence of timber pest attack including termite attack, borer attack and wood decay. All accessible areas are checked such as external areas, under floor areas (if accessible), interior, roof space (if accessible) and outbuildings such as sheds.
What qualifications do pest inspectors have?
All of our pest inspectors are experienced and fully qualified to detect and report on timber pest damage or activity. They also have the depth of knowledge and practical experience to comment on conditions that are conducive (makes the property more attractive) to termites. This willl assist you in taking positive action to reduce the risk of termite attack to your property.
Can a house fail an inspection?
No. The inspection is not a pass/fail system. The aim of a pest & building inspection is to arm the purchaser with the information required to make an informed decision. We cannot advise whether to purchase a property or not, but we can assist with the decision making process by giving unbiased information.
